WTF Bike Camping!

  • The Bikery 845 Hiawatha Place South Seattle, WA, 98144 United States (map)

The Bikery's first official WTF bike camping trip! Open to all who identify as women/trans/femme/non-binary. We were lucky enough to snag the last campsite at Kanaskat-Palmer for September 1 for one night. It's a labor day weekend miracle!

Expect to cover about 70 miles over the weekend. That sounds like a lot, but it's not when you spread it out over two days and the good news is this is a mostly flat ride. All skill and experience levels welcome - especially beginners! We promise we won't drop you, even if you're a bit slow.

The plan:

-We'll meet at the Bikery (845 Hiawatha Pl S in Seattle) at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 1st and roll out at 10:30 am. We'll head 35 miles in a southeasterly direction to Kanaskat-Palmer, stopping for lunch and groceries along the way.

-On Sunday we will head back sometime in the late morning / early afternoon.

-Everyone should plan to be self-sufficient with regards to food, sleeping situations, etc, but please reach out with any questions re: gear needs. The Seattle WTF explorers facebook group is an awesome resource for questions and gear lending: https://www.facebook.com/groups/178909139505801/?ref=br_rs

Someone is bound to have a catastrophic mechanical failure and it'll be a good story, but don't let it be you! Come to The Bikery to tune up your ride beforehand!

Reserve your spot at https://squareup.com/store/thebikery. Space is limited and available on a first-come first-served basis. No one turned away for lack of funds. Please contact Tara Peters, Programming Lead, with questions at tara@thebikery.org.
