The Bikery is a 100% volunteer run 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Your tax-deductible contribution keeps our doors open and provides low-cost bike repair to the Seattle community.

There are several ways to support the Bikery! We accept donations of cash, bikes and bike parts, and in-kind donations of services we can use to deliver our programs. Check out the different ways to support below.

Bike Donation Acceptance Criteria

We believe in the magic of all bicycles - old, new, shiny, and storied. We gladly accept donations of bicycles, bike parts, and tools that can be put to use in our workshop. Bikes are refurbished and sold in our retail shop, which keeps waste out of landfills and provides accessible transportation to members of our community!

However, we are limited on space and some bikes can require too much work to be a benefit to the Bikery. We suggest you use the following guidelines in determining whether to donate to us.

At this time bikes and bike parts can only be donated during shop hours. We accept bikes that are, in general:

• Clean

• Have a set of working wheels

• Not an e-bike

• Not a child’s bike

• Free of excessive rust

• Originally purchased from a bike shop, not a department store or Amazon. Feel free to contact us if you don’t know.

This is not an exhaustive list, and we have the right to turn away donations for any reason, or no reason at all. We may not have the space to store your bike. Please contact us (info@thebikery.org) if you are unsure if your donation will ultimately be beneficial to the Bikery.

Corporate & Workplace Giving

We are a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax-deductible. If you or your organization would like to donate on an ongoing basis, please get in touch. Many organizations have workplace giving programs that boost employee donations to nonprofits like The Bikery. Workplaces may offer automatic payroll deductions, donation matching, or volunteer hours matching – all of these can help maximize your impact on our community.
